collaborate
Collaboration is the act of people working together towards a shared objective – pure and simple. I see tremendous value in distributed collaboration (and the law of large numbers) applied to the right environment where creativity, diversity, and complimentary skill sets collide. Examine any org (company, outfit, agency, community, brand, whatever, etc.) that’s growing and collaboration is likely a primary driver; there are countless indications that uninhibited collaboration is the future of business, both inside and out.
Since there are no rules or limits (just outdated norms) to collaboration, I strive to remain as open as possible to collaborating on a number of levels:
Direct hire/contract: I consult in a variety of areas focused on the convergence of business + web under my legally recognized trade name Rifta, LLC. The rate can hourly or project based, on a case by case basis. Contact me to discuss needs and objectives to determine if I can add value to your cause.
Pay for performance: I am open to receiving compensation in exchange for specific milestones and measurable outcomes. Results oriented arrangements can limit financial risk from the hiring side or benefit an early stage company with limited financial resources. I’m comfortable with this type of payment arrangement as most of my professional career has revolved around it to some degree.
Partner: Fresh and original ideas need specific skillsets in order for them to gain traction. I’m open to partnering with and contributing to an early stage start-up (idea/concept/project/product/service etc.) in exchange for an ownership interest (in place of direct and immediate compensation). Even if you already have something good going but have a void that needs filling, I’d be open to exchanging time and resources for equity provided there is a match.
